We traveled up a winding hill, past waterfalls and ponds, across stone bridges:

After we checked in and got a tour of the lovely property, we settled into our room and then set out for some dinner.
After a filling dinner, Jim decided to challenge me to a game of miniature golf.
I think that this is the ultimate first date plan, and yet Jim and I after 2 years of togetherness have never played a mini golf game.
After 1 hour and 18 holes, the final score Stacy: 81 vs. Jim: 71.

SO What...he beat me by 10 strokes. I think I lost my concentration on the water holes, which caused me the need to take a quick potty break.

We then hopped back into the car and headed back to our temporary home for the evening. Note to anyone that has never been to a bed and breakfast...take comfy clothes. I forgot mine. Jim took slippers and sweatpants. He always remembers comfy clothes. So, I stayed in my jeans and sweatshirt.
We decided to leave the phones and pagers in the room and head to the Movie Room.

We decided to turn down the fire pit and SMores and just continue to relax and enjoy a quiet evening.
After a good night's sleep...we got up and headed to breakfast downstairs. We met the other guests, a couple from Massachusetts traveling on a road trip and a couple from New Jersey, who also own a bed and breakfast. We had an enjoyable conversation and a WONDERFUL breakfast.

I chose a sundried tomato omelette with toast and Jim chose scrambled eggs with cheese. It was accompanied by Canteloupe and grapes, juice and coffee.
Then, we headed back to reality and made our trek home.
How wonderful it was to spend time focused only on each other! A much needed get-away before Baby S makes their debut in a little over 3 months!
Thanks Jimmy for a wonderful surprise get-away!
The bed and breakfast looks beautiful! It's a great idea to have a weekend away because it will probably be your last for a while. We enjoyed weekends away before both babies and had a great time too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the well wishes and prayers for our family and Emily. We are home now and doing very well. I heard that you got the play by play on the scanner. What a day :)
