A few I forgot
Lori Petty, JJ Walker, Bill Kirchenbauer, Cameron Mathison, Mark Consuelos, Mia Farrow
I said SHAKE, RATTLE, And ROLL.....shake, rattle and roll
What an active baby I have in my belly.
He/She didnt allow mommy much sleep last night. This is the most active Baby S has been so far. If I rolled to my right, the baby bopped me in my right side. If I rolled to my left, the baby rolled right along to the left and let me know I shouldnt lay there either.
At one point this morning, Jimmy tucked Molli into our bed. She put her head near my belly and the baby whacked her. She tilted her head, in her normally perplexed fashion, and looked at me, like "what in the world was that?" My dog is absolutely aware of the fact that there is something/someone in my belly.
Too bad that Daddy still does not feel Baby S move. Actually, I think Jim isnt yet interested in placing his hands on my growing belly. But, I dont think that makes him a bad dad to be. Maybe in a few weeks when the kicks become more prominent, he will want to feel the baby move more often.
We start our Childbirth class and baby basics next week. I am wondering what in the world will take up 8 hours of our time for childbirth class. Baby Care is just 4 hours.
I have had alot of people ask me why I am going to Baby Care class. UMmmm...I dont have any idea how to take care of a newborn, and neither does Jimmy. Yes, it will mostly "come naturally" but I am not sure how to bathe a newborn with its umbilical cord intact. For goodness sake, I had to turn Chase's diaper around twice this weekend to find the front, and I had no idea which bottles worked for which reason. A little education never hurt anyone, right?
Tonight, Amanda L. And Joline and I are headed to justlikenewkids sale for some mommy-to-be bargains. I am greatly looking forward to the sale. I always enjoy my time with my friends that are also pregnant. I feel like everything I talk about revolves aroung being pregnant, and that I might generally annoy my non pregnant friends. The poor girls that I share my lunch with every day at work have to listen to my aches and pains and likes and dislikes every day.

100 Days
Today marks the 100 day mark until our due date!
We have made it 180 days! Tomorrow, we move into double digits!
By the start of next week, we have made it to the third and final trimester, the home stretch!
So many good things seem to be naturally falling into place for us during the last week.
All in all, should it finally come down to me losing my job, it will allow us the opportunity for me to stay at home with Baby S for at least 6 months without guilt or financial worry.
God has truly provided for us. Plus I think we have done a great job at focusing our finances on saving for this grand occasion.

My stretching Belly
Over the last week, I feel like my belly has stretched beyond its own limits. YES, I know I have 3 more months and it will "get worse". I am just starting to feel a little less comfortable. I need a pillow under my tummy and my back gets achy. I am trying to keep active as to alleviate the aching back pain. I may even start setting an alarm clock so that I stop sleeping 9 or 10 hours and maybe that will help with some of the stiffness. I am used to seeing Deb, my masage therapist every 6 to 8 weeks, but since I have been pregnant, I have not had a massage.
Perhaps, she and I can come up with a third trimester plan. She has been a life saver to me, since I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease. As long as I can keep my muscles relaxed, I seldom have the severe back pain that I lived with through 3 severe bouts, each lasting about 3 to 5 months. I think I will call her tomorrow and come up with a plan to see her and get some of the kinks out.
I feel like I ate a full Thanksgiving meal, like when your belly is sooo full there is no more room for another bite. And, the stretch marks are growing! Yikes!
BUT, I am feeling the baby move alot more often, which is wonderful! We are almost down to the double digit countdown, just a few more days and we will have less than 100 days to go.

Back from our mini Babymoon
Jim and I headed out yesterday afternoon and traveled an hour south to lower York County.
We checked into a beautiful Bed and Breakfast called Stone Crest.
We chose World Trade Center. Great movie. We snuggled into the oversized couches and watched our chosen flick without any interruption, except for the owner making a quick stop to introduce himself.

We traveled up a winding hill, past waterfalls and ponds, across stone bridges:

After we checked in and got a tour of the lovely property, we settled into our room and then set out for some dinner.
After a filling dinner, Jim decided to challenge me to a game of miniature golf.
I think that this is the ultimate first date plan, and yet Jim and I after 2 years of togetherness have never played a mini golf game.
After 1 hour and 18 holes, the final score Stacy: 81 vs. Jim: 71.

SO What...he beat me by 10 strokes. I think I lost my concentration on the water holes, which caused me the need to take a quick potty break.

We then hopped back into the car and headed back to our temporary home for the evening. Note to anyone that has never been to a bed and breakfast...take comfy clothes. I forgot mine. Jim took slippers and sweatpants. He always remembers comfy clothes. So, I stayed in my jeans and sweatshirt.
We decided to leave the phones and pagers in the room and head to the Movie Room.

We decided to turn down the fire pit and SMores and just continue to relax and enjoy a quiet evening.
After a good night's sleep...we got up and headed to breakfast downstairs. We met the other guests, a couple from Massachusetts traveling on a road trip and a couple from New Jersey, who also own a bed and breakfast. We had an enjoyable conversation and a WONDERFUL breakfast.

I chose a sundried tomato omelette with toast and Jim chose scrambled eggs with cheese. It was accompanied by Canteloupe and grapes, juice and coffee.
Then, we headed back to reality and made our trek home.
How wonderful it was to spend time focused only on each other! A much needed get-away before Baby S makes their debut in a little over 3 months!
Thanks Jimmy for a wonderful surprise get-away!

Headed to our Mini Babymoon
Jim and I are headed to a Bed & Breakfast for the afternoon and into tomorrow morning for somewhat of a "babymoon". I am looking forward to spending some time alone with no housework and worries. I am surely hoping that Jim can cut loose and not bring the pagers and lap-top and cell phone and just spend some time with me and my belly.
I will post a follow-up.
Now, off to pack and give Molli a good run before Aunt April and Uncle Grant come to take care of her for the next 24 hours.

I love Eggplant Parmigiana...as a matter of fact, I could eat some right now.

Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant
Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

Can you believe that the baby is this big?
Wow! Now I understand why my stomach seems to fill up on smaller meals....though I wonder how my actual belly seems to have really grown this week! An appleseed to an eggplant in just 25 weeks! Building a baby is such a miracle!

Second Hand Lil
I am not sure where I have heard that saying before...and I sure hope it isnt me saying something dirty without knowing it.
Amanda Livelsberger and I met at 7:50 am this morning in the Empire Friendship Fire Hall parking lot for our second attempt at a consignment sale.
YOWZA! I had alot more fun at this one. www.clothestheclosetdoor.com Why dont I do my own consignment sales. Hard Work, may be the answer.
We were like the 15th and 16th people in line. From the moment I walked in, I was a little set-aback with all of the kids stuff. Amanda is such a calm person, so she headed to the back where the strollers and exersaucers were. She found a great diaper bag and soft growth chart.
I was totally immersed in the aisles of toddler toys...so I went crazy!
2 firetrucks were my first find, a soft one that makes noise for baby and a Megablok one. It doesnt matter if we have a girl, Jimmy will still want her to have some fire trucks.
Here is the rest of my list: Little People Farm, Circus Train, and Playground, Baby Einstein Talking Dragon and Cow puppets( so awesome), Smart Start Mat, Leap Frog Phonics Train, Aquarium play mat, Little Leap Frog learner with book, Noahs Ark Little People, A really cute Leap Frog Crib Toy that teaches colors, and a few Vtech toys....ALL for $66. I came home and looked the toys up online to see the retail prices...$400 for everything I bought. All in amazing condition!!!
AND, we have 1 more show in 2 weeks, which I have heard is the BEST of all. www.justlikenewkids.com
I love a good deal!
If I knew what I was having, I would have gone crazy with the clothing, as they seem to be the best of all deals. When fall arrives, I will strap the baby into its carrier and head out again to see what clothing buys I can find. I never understand why people pay hundreds of dollars on items that their baby will grow out of in months.
My Goodness, My Baby, get here on-time. I cant wait to play with those puppets!

The bests of having a girl or a boy
Those of you that I speak with daily know that I have gone back and forth between calling Baby S a boy...and then... days later...have switched it to a girl.
I am just not sure what this baby is. That is the absolute truth.
Am I making it gender confused by calling it a girl or boy from one week and then switching it the next. I am assuming not.
The truth is, to me there are only a few gender positives to having a boy and gender positives to having a girl.
Here they are:
Girl Positives
I love Barbies and dolls and I think I would still be good at playing with them.
I think girl clothes are more fun to buy. I love frilly panties and mary janes.
Boy Positives
I will make my father in law happy by giving him a boy to pass on the Salter name.
I think boys are easier to raise....I dont know though....just going by what my friends say.
Everything else that I look forward to doing with my child or hope to see my child take part in, really doesnt matter if they are a boy or girl:
Going fishing with grandpa
Doing crafts
Going to the races with Daddy
Going to their high school football game ( they can be a player or a cheerleader...I'll still go)
Getting their first bb gun and teaching them how to shoot it
Becoming a firefighter...Shelly Latsha....you are one heck of a role model for litle girls.
I think Jim will do just as well with a Baby Audrey as he will with a Baby Grayson.
I think he would be a great dad to a little girl, just the same as he will be a great dad to a little boy, maybe even better. I hope that he will still want to take her to the firehouse and the races.
In the end, I can see myself as a good mom to either gender.
Maybe when I have one I will feel like I want to have another of the opposite sex just to experience the challenge of both. ( I truly doubt this....though you all think i will change my mind...I did love being an only child).

And we ALL shine on!
Midwife Visit for today was GRRRREEAAT!
Down 1 lb from last visit for a total now...of 8 lbs total gained from my first visit. I clarified this today, after losing and gaining and losing so many times. Not bad at all for 24 completed weeks.
I am working hard to keep my weight gain at a healthy pace. I started out overweight, so this is a health issue for me. Too much weight gain is not good for me or baby for the next 15 weeks.
My A1C test for gestational diabetes came back. I scored a 5, absolutely normal. My pre-enclampsia panels came back fine.
My fundal height is measuring right where it needs to be, about 3 inches above my belly button.
I have to learn to bend at the knee and not at the waist( er...what was my waist).
I am experiencing round ligament pain when I bend too much or shift my body too quickly, which is normal. I have that one lousy stretch mark on my mid section that has grown a bit.
Bending at the knee will relieve the RLP and make sure my stretch mark stays smaller.
YES...this is my VANITY POST...deal with it!
I feel wonderful!

Looks like we made it....
Thanks Barry Manilow for those great words.
Baby Salter has officially made it to V-Day.
Viability Day.
What does this mean to us?
It means that should any complications arise during the remainder of the pregnancy, our little one could officially survive outside of my womb. As each week goes by the chances of survival without long term concerns for the child increase dramatically.
This is a day that many women who have suffered through complications early on, pray for.
This is a day that I have prayed for, especially after our visit to the ER at 15 weeks, now 10 weeks ago.
By no means is our baby ready to make their debut...they are welcome to stay right where they are for another 15 weeks. ( Note to BABY S...if you are fully cooked...feel free to come out up to 2 weeks early...as long as you are given the green flag from the doctors, mommy is a-ok with this.)
Tomorrow is my last second trimester appointment. Our next midwife visit will be the first of our third trimester visits. HOLY COW!
In just a few weeks, birthing classes and baby care classes begin.
I wonder to myself, will Jimmy be the class clown? Probably so. He wouldn't be Jimmy if he didn't search out a few laughs.
Update to follow tomorrows Midwife appointment. Hopefully, all of my labs came back clear and we have no BP or sugar concerns from here on out.

A Little Thank you note to the big man
Dear God:
Thank you.
I know that I don't say that enough to you.
Thank you for giving me two wonderful parents.
Thank you for allowing at least 3 of my grandparents to live long enough to make an impact on my life.
Thank you for placing Jeff Jones across the street from our house. He taught me lessons no one else would have ever been able to teach me.
Thank you for English Center Store and Pine Creek.
Thank you for widening the circle of my family enough that I would have not just Aunts and Uncles and cousins to learn from and enjoy, but Great Aunts and Uncles and Second cousins. The family you placed me in was a good choice.
Thank you for giving me good friends. Thank you for plopping Harry onto my parents doorstep. He had much more patience teaching me how to drive than my parents would have. Thank you for making my parent's circle of friends strong and wide and welcoming enough to become my family.
Thank you for allowing me to make huge mistakes and wander far away from you, and still you forgive me, offer me grace, and remind me that you never have had a need to "take me back" that you have always been there.
Thank you for NOT answering all of my prayers. I can't imagine where I would be if you would have said YES all of the time.
Thank you for Jim. Thank you for making him someone that has his own voice and does not allow me to walk all over him, or heaven forbid walk away from him. Thank you for making him strong in the areas that I am not. Thank you for making him patient, because you and I know sometimes he has to exercise it ALOT with me.
Thank you for his family.
Thank you for allowing me to see the world. Thank you for not making my parents too afraid to let me go.
Thank you for Camp Susque.
Thank you for White Pine Church.
Thank you for placing me into a great job.
Thank you for the roof over my head and the flowers in my front yard.
Thank you for Maya, Hazel, and Molli.
Thank you for my Daybreak Family. Thank you for letting me grow some wings there that I may not have grown anywhere else.
Thank you for the life that you have placed inside of me. I promise to be a good mom.
Thank you.

Knock Knock....who's there?
Mary Dubiel has become the official title holder of the first person to feel the baby move from the outside.
I was standing in her office today and the baby kicked way up high on my left side, twice. It was 2 surprisingly harder kicks and so I ran across the room to grab Mary's hand and smack it on my belly, and said "Can you feel that?" And she yelled..."YES!"
Yahoo!! I am so excited!
116 days until I get to see who God has placed behind the iron curtain that is my belly!
Psalm 139:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

An unborn baby’s heart begins to beat eighteen days after conception, and her fingerprints are completely established during the fourth week of development in her mother’s womb. She sucks her thumb seven weeks after conception; and sometime between nine and ten weeks, this preborn wonder squints, swallows, and moves her tongue.
At the moment of conception, every piece of her genetic puzzle is in place—a miraculous blueprint of life.
As a weaver knows his every stitch, as a seamstress purposefully fashions a beautiful garment—God creates us wonderful and whole even while our form is hidden.

Too much Salt and a lack of Water
Equal alot of water weight gain...aka Bloat.
When you become pregnant and begin to pay closer attention to your body...what you discover can be absolutely amazing. At least for me, it has been this way.
What I have realized is that if I do not get at least 8 glasses of water each day, no matter what I eat or how much exercise I do, I will gain 2 lbs. AND, if I eat pasta or too much bread, I will gain more, regardless of if I eat too much of it.
Water is truly an amazing necessity for good health.
So, I have decided to make sure I am super hydrating myself everyday.
I truly am a salt sensitive and carb sensitive person.
I am not sure I would have recognized this, if I were not pregnant.

Peep...Peep...Peep....I am Officially NESTING
I cleaned out 2 lawn size garbage bags of throw away clothes and another 3 bags for the Good Will today....just out of our Master Bedroom. I am headed to the store to get those drop down hangers and some storage stuff to make our closet even better. The last job for today is the master bath.
Jim and I are pack-rats and we didn't even know it.....well maybe I knew Jim was. :)
We have a community yard sale in May, so maybe I will gather everything together for that...or not...maybe that is too much of a pain in the neck this year.
I wonder what room I will attack next?

The Seven Week Comparison

So after my last post, I asked Jimmy to march up from his office this morning. I put on the same outfit I was wearing from my 16 week appt and made Jim take a picture.
So here is the 7 week comparison. Its like everything has sucked up and forward and my face got fatter. I am going to wear this outfit every week that we take a picture until I cant wear it anymore.
Ignore our camera dates....I cant get the date fixed.
Just think Week 16 and Week 23 of 40 WEEKS.
PS: I started cleaning my dresser drawers today. So Far, just the dresser...1 full garbage bag of garbage clothes and 1/4 bag of goodwill clothes.
I AM ENORMOUS....and I have 17 weeks to go!!!
23 weeks down and 17 weeks to go.

You may be staring at my 23 week picture and thinking that I must have gained 50 lbs....NOPE...7 lbs as of this morning.
7 lbs.....and this is what I look like???? I am HUGE...or to steal Jen Barnes word Ginormous!!!

I feel like I get up in the morning and I look like I have gained 7 lbs....I barely look pregnant. THEN, by noon, I look like I've gained maybe 15 lbs. By the time I plop down on the couch for the night, I feel like I look like I have gained the full 50. Oh Bloat and Gas! What joy!

I think I wanna make Baby Shoes

Today, I feel suddenly inspired to open it.
I want to make soft soled baby shoes.
On pins and needles soft bottom baby shoes has a great tutorial and beautiful designs. It takes you step by step through cutting and sewing the shoes and what materials to use. It looks easy enough.
Last night Brian and Jolene from our small group asked us an ice breaker: If you could have any job in the world, regardless of money, to enjoy the rest of your life, what would it be?
I said Stay at Home Mom. Jim said Pilot.
But just an hour early I was sitting at dinner with Jim and telling him that I don't think I am naturally equipped to be a 24/7 stay at home mom. IT IS HARD WORK!!! I got a taste of it when I watched my 3 god-children for a day...and I do believe that they are in the upper 5% of well behaved, "easy" kids. I was tired when their parents got home.
As my due date approaches, I have daily moments of reflection back onto my life before being a mom.
I have spent the last 12 years of my life, 9 of them at Campus Door, within corporate America. I love it! I feel like I was built to do what I do as a business woman. I think I am not good, but a GREAT motivator. I like selling. I like mapping out a business plan and seeing the sales flow in. I am good at it. I dont want to just give it up.
For 5 months, I have been immersed in "mommy-land". This is a land where the customer pool never ceases. Pregnant woman want to buy "baby things". I find myself looking at all of the gadgets and gizmos, be they simple or ....um...bumboish... and I think, what product hasn't been perfected or created....where can I find a niche that would allow me to enjoy the reward of being a mom and still reap the fulfillment of being a business woman? Is it soft soled baby shoes? Is it creating a baby consignment expo that I can travel to various regional venues and shop to other mommy's/consigners? Is it these cute little gift sets that I sooo want to make for my pregnant friends( 4 total, plus me equals 5).

THIS is how a business mommy thinks!
So far, all I have come up with is.....I want to make soft soled baby shoes.

A Coming Home Outfit
I have been looking around for one special outfit to bring the baby home in. Recently, my mom and I found a cute little girl outfit at old navy. No luck yet for a boys outfit. I wanted it to be easy to get on and off, but cute. Since it is August, I also know it cant be a long sleeve pajama set. I will just use a cute blanket to keep the baby covered over it's outfit.

So, here is what I bought should we be bringing a baby girl home. It is a one piece white jumper with swiss dots. The hat matches.
