Mary did you know?

Today, we opened our Advent Calendar and inside was the ornament of Mary.

We talked about Mary and who she was and placed her on our tree.

We played with Audreys nativity set and talked about how Mary was Jesus's mommy, like I am her Mommy. Then, we read the Christmas Story and talked about Mary some more.

On Sunday at church, we watched this great clip from the movie The Nativity Story. In the clip, Mary returns to her village and she is 6 months pregnant. When Joseph, her then fiancee, sees her, he is shocked to see that she is pregnant. I mean, WOW, what man wouldnt be? Can you imagine what the folks in her village thought or called her? Did she really know the immensity of what she was doing? I mean, it is hard enough being Audrey Salter's Mom. Imagine being Jesus's mom!
Then, we had some fun and made snowman marshmellow desserts! They werent pretty, but they sure were a hit!

I can hardly believe how fast the last few weeks have gone! We have just a few more days of Advent to celebrate! I am already looking forward to next year. it has been quite a fun journey.
As I look back on the calendar of events that we have accomplished, i am very proud to have shared this with my daughter. I hope she has enjoyed it all even more than I have!
